Baptism Services this Sunday!

Dear Wildwood,

In Luke 15, Jesus tells three parables — the parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son — that all end with a celebration.  Why the celebration?  Because that which was lost (and valuable) had been found!

In the Bible we learn that all people have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  We also see that on our own, we will stay “lost” chasing the whims of our own hearts (Romans 3:10-12).  The only hope any of us have for being “found” is for God to reach out in His grace and save us.  Thankfully, this is exactly what He has done for us in Christ (Romans 5:8)!  Like the shepherd finding the lost sheep, the woman finding the lost coin, and the Father finding the lost son in Luke 15, we too want to join all heaven in celebrating anytime someone comes to faith in Christ!

This Sunday at Wildwood (August 5), we will be celebrating new life in Jesus as we witness the water baptisms of 21 individuals who have placed their faith in Jesus and been saved by His grace.  These baptisms will take place in our 9:45 and 11:00 services.  Nine people will be baptized at 9:45 and twelve will be baptized at 11:00 (see the list below for details).

In order to allow all of us to gather and celebrate these baptisms, we will be having a “modified All-In” service this week.  That means that we will not have any adult, middle/high school, or elementary aged Sunday school classes this week (NOTE:  the nursery through pre-K rooms will still be running as normal), as we invite all who attend to join us in the worship center as we celebrate these baptisms together.  We look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday!

In Christ,

Pastor Mark
