Sneak Peek Sunday October 7

Hello Wildwood Family!

Boomer!!     Sooner!!

Time for that dynamic, true indicator of fall—the OU-Texas game!!  While it is nice to see the Longhorns playing better this fall, we all know who we want to win, right?  We’ve got a divine obligation to keep those folks in Texas humble.  ;-)

We hope you enjoyed our three-week celebration of Wildwood’s 50th anniversary.  By the way, several people asked me what the date was of Wildwood’s very first official Sunday as a church.  By scouring the historical records, I finally found it—April 28, 1968.  Twelve people signed the church charter that first week.

Deep gratitude is what we feel for all that God has graciously done over five decades through the Wildwood family.  We look forward with great excitement to see how He will continue to build his church in the months and years ahead.  Thanks for being a part of God’s work through Wildwood.

There is a lot going on in the days ahead.  Be sure to check the bulletin and our website ( for more information.  Two things I want to highlight:

1)    baptism classes are being held on October 21 for all ages.  If you have never been baptized since trusting in Christ as your Rescuer, why not now?  For more info go to

2)    The Father-Son campout is on the horizon…a great time for dads and sons.  It will be in the Wichita Mountains on Nov 2-4.  You can register at

Sunday we will be returning to the I AM series where we are examining some of Jesus’ I AM statements and unpacking who Jesus really is.  In 2 Peter 3:8 Peter exhorts us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  This study is a great way to do that.  This Sunday we will be unpacking what was meant when Jesus said, I am the door of the sheep.  Really, what does that mean??  Come Sunday and see!

See you Sunday
